Botanical Butterfly

Hello everyone.

I hope you had a lovely weekend in all the beautiful sunshine.  We have great fun playing in the garden and getting it ready for spending lots of family time outside.

The sunshine really does help with the creativity and also receiving some lovely new dies from Spellbinders also helps.

I got to have a play with a beautiful butterfly die from the Flower Garden collection by Sharyn Sowell called Botanical Butterfly.

The butterfly wings have some really lovely detail on them.  I cut the butterfly from gold card stock.  I cut another wing without the detail from pink card stock and added this underneath so that you could see the detail better. I also glued the wing down just under the body to give to a bit of a flutter.

The little flowers I have used to embellish my card come from another Flower Garden set called Shapeabilities Tiny Shadow Box.  I have another project to share using this set coming soon.

I made my card clean and simple with a few soft colours.

The die is so pretty and you can either use one wing like I have or cut out two as the set comes with the body and antenna separate.

Thanks for stopping by today and have a lovely week.

Please check out the full collection from Sharyn Sowell HERE.

Feeling A Little Blue

Hello all.

I am rather late posting my card for the Daring Cardmakers feeling blue challenge.  I am busy with my French course and enjoying the gorgeous weather.

Its Nats turn to host this weeks challenge and Nat would like to see blue featured on your creations this week.

"Blue is always a colour I associate with Cornwall - the iconic blue stripes of Cornishware pottery, the gorgeous indigo fabric prints (especially in Seasalt - yep, I bought another shopper bag...), and just the general weathered blues on boats and buildings all about."

When I think of the colour blue its reminds me of the cold with snow and of course Christmas.

So I created a festive shaker card.  Another one ready to stash away so I am not rushing to make them later in the year.

I used a snowflake stencil to make the background and used a two different shades of blue ink.

To create the shaker part I used lots of beads and sequins from the Blue Christmas Letterbox available from Bubbly Funk.

Thanks for stopping by today and please stop by the Daring Cardmakers Blog to see what the design team created.

Have a lovely weekend.

Rainbow Birthday

Hello Crafters.
I had a super busy weekend so forgot to get Mondays Spellblogger post ready but here it is.  I was busy planning my daughters birthday party so lots to share soon.

I decided to create my project this week using two of my favourite things, unicorns and rainbows.

I kept the layout of my card very simple and just added these lovely rainbow letters using an Alphabet Die Set from Spellbinders.  I cut all the letters out using glitter card in different colours.

I then used the Die D-Lites Unicorn Fantasy set and cut the unicorn out twice.  Once from white glitter card and one from gold mirror card.  I then created a drop shadow to add a bit of definition.

I then created this matching gift bag.  I do like it when you are making a card and need a gift that it all matches.

I finished my bag with a strip of the paper I used on the card and a pretty ribbon to keep your gift safe inside.

Thanks for stopping by today and please stop by the SHOP over at Spellbinders for details about the dies I have used on todays project.

I haven't entered a card challenge for a while so thought I would give this one ago.  All my favourite things in once challenge.

Animal Antics

Hello Everyone.

I am very sorry I missed sharing my card for last weeks Elemental Inspiration challenge at Daring Cardmakers.  We were without the internet so I will pop a few photos on this post at the end.

This weeks challenge at Daring Cardmakers is called Animal Antics.

Ruth our lovely host this week would like your creation to feature an animal.

I went for the easy option and I picked a cat.

I was doing some work experience recently at an animal charity shop near where I live so I made this card to say thank you.

I started with a square of white card stock and masked off the moon.  I then started ink blending using the blues for the sky first.  I then created a mask to create some small hill shapes and inked around this to make my background.

I then used some stamps by Indigoblu called Nature I and stamped the tree and the corn in black straight over my inked background.
For my little animal addition I used a die from Spellbinders called Die D-Lites Kitty Cats.  The die set comes in a set of three and each cat is in a different pose.

To finish the card I added some wink of stella to the moon and stamped a greeting onto some black card.

Also here are a few photos of my card from last weeks elemental inspiration challenge from Daring Cardmakers.

The elements that I picked were the colours, gold frames, hexagon and feathers.

I recently purchased this very cute peacock die from Craftelier.  Its a fabulous site and they deliver to France which is just fantastic as I can now get hold of all the brands I miss.

I also used a feather punch from Fiskars and some stitched dies from Stampin up.

Thanks for stopping by today and have a lovely weekend.

xXx

Making A Splash

Hello everyone.

I have been missing for a week as we were having trouble with our phone and internet.  We had one night of some rather unexpected windy weather which pulled out our line.  Thankfully today we are back up and running.

So in order to catch up with my blog posts I thought I would combine a little  Spellbinders with a bit of Bubbly Funk.

I received my Hello Spring Through the Letter box from Bubbly Funk and inside was a stunning stencil from Hero Arts.

This months box from Bubbly Funk is full of lovely items to add to your craft stash all inspired by Spring colours, its a box full of cheer.

I decided to have a play with the stencil as this is a very new technique for me.

To make my card I took a square of white card stock and used the stencil and used 3 different ink colours.    These colours together reminded me of the sea so that's where the mermaid comes in.

After I inked through the stencil I sprayed it with some peal ink and left this to dry.  While it was drying I cut out the pieces I needed for my mermaid using a fabulous dies from Spellbinders.

All the pieces for the Mermaid you can die cut separately which is fabulous.  This means you can change the colour of  her tail or her hair.  I decided to colour her hair in with promarkers just to add a bit of shading.

I then created a bit of a underwater scene using some stamps and added a few sequins which I thought looked liked bubbles.

I finished my card with a little greeting and added a star fish and a little shell embellishment which is also in the Build A Mermaid set from Spellbinders.

Thanks for stopping by today and have a lovely week.

Happy Easter

Happy Easter everyone.

I hope you all had a lovely day yesterday.

I am sharing a little treat project today using a Christmas die for an Easter creation.

I was looking through all my dies and I realised that none of them were Easter themed.  But I noticed on the Shapeabilities Deck The Halls die by Sharyn Sowell they were some little bunnies.

So to embellish my project I used some kraft card and just die cut these little fellas out.  I even added some cute little pom poms for the bunnies tails.

My little treat boxes hold 3 tiny chocolate eggs and I found some fabulous tutorials over on U Tube to create the boxes.

I cut a little window in the top so you could see the contents using the tag die from the Die D-Lites Spring Time set.

I finished each box with some bakers twine to keep them closed.

These made perfect little gifts to give to my work colleagues.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Please head over to the Spellbinders Website for all the details about the dies I have used on todays project.

Lets Do Digi

 Hello there.

Its challenge time over at Daring Cardmakers.  Kathy our lovely host has picked a brilliant challenge this week, something that I haven't used in a long time.

For this weeks challenge The Daring Cardmakers would like you to use something digital on your creations.  This could be some papers you have downloaded, an image or a sentiment you have created on your PC.

I went to my favourite site for this challenge, The Lovely Studio (Pink Petticoat).  I had these beach huts sat in a file for all my digital crafts and couldn't wait to use them.

I also used some beach themed papers which are also a digital download.

I coloured my image using pro markers and added some little die cut nautical shapes from Spellbinders.

Anyone else wishing for summer?
I think wishing for some nicer weather has inspired me this week.

Thanks for stopping by today and please check out the blog at Daring Cardmakers for more lovely digital inspiration.

We can't wait to see what you create.

Have fun.

Coffee Rings

Hello everyone.

For this weeks Spellblogger post using dies from Spellbinders I wanted to create a male card.  I really struggle with these cards and I thought I needed some to add to my card box.

I thought the Shapeabilities Coffee Break die from Seth Apter would be a great one to use.  I decided to use the die to create a background.

I cut 4 of the Coffee rings from white card stock.  I then added ink to each using some Tim Holtz distress inks in various colours.  I then sprayed these with water and allowed them to dry.  After they were dry I added some versamark ink in a few random places and used some gold embossing powder, which I then heat set.

I then added the Coffee Rings to a square of white card stock, trimmed off the excess and layered this onto some black card stock.

I finished my card with a sentiment using the Simply Said Phrase One die set also from Spellbinders.  I cut this from black card stock and added a drop shadow in gold.

A card perfect for a coffee lover or great for a masculine card.

Thanks for stopping by today and please check out the website over at Spellbinders for all the details about the dies I have used on todays project.

Back To Basics

Happy weekend to all.

Its challenge time at Daring Cardmakers.  Its a difficult one, well I thought it was and I do like a challenge.  Joanne our lovely host this week would like you to choose one geometric shape and one primary colour to be feature on your card.

I decided to go with red and hexagons and keep my card very simple.

I layered some white card stock onto a piece of red and then I used a stencil to create my hexagon background.  I then die cut some larger hexagons from a kit of the month from Spellbinders called Fun & Sparkle.

I then attached these hexagons to the front of my card and stamped "happy" in one and die cut a little banner and stamped "birthday" on to it.

I then finished with a few sequins.  If you look very closely the sequins have hexagons in them as well.  I didn't notice this until Joanne (our host) pointed it out to me.

I can't wait to see what you come up with and please link your cards over on the Daring Cardmakers Blog.

Thanks for stopping by today and please check out more lovely inspiration from the design team over on the BLOG.

Springtime Thank You.

Hello Bubbly Funk Fans and happy weekend to you all.

I am sharing a little thank you project with you today.  Its a little gift bag to say thank you all those lovely Easter eggs that you may receive.

To make my gift bag I used some neutral designer paper as I wanted this lovely fabric flower to stand out.  I layered up the felt flower and added a little button to the centre.  I also had these little cute wooden ladybirds in my craft stash which I thought would look rather sweet.

To make the bag you need a piece of card of patterned paper 6 x 12 inches.  The score of the long side at 2 7/8, 5 3/4, 8 5/8 and 11 1/2.  The score of the short side at 2".  I have a score board which makes things really easy for me when making bags.

I then added a little tag with a stamped sentiment.  The mini tag came from the "love is" through the letter box which you can find HERE.

Please stop by the Bubbly Funk SHOP where you will find a vast selection of pretty flowers to use on your projects.

Also please check out the Bubbly Funk BLOG for more amazing inspiration from the Design Team using lots of lovely craft items from the SHOP.

BBQ King

Hello everyone and welcome to another Spellblogger post from Spellbinders.

Does anyone else like to get ahead with their card making?  I am already thinking about Fathers Day.  So today I have a BBQ themed card to share with you.

To make my card I layered a square of white card stock onto some black.  I then added some strips of designer paper to the bottom and added the Daddy sentiment use an alphabet die from Spellbinders.

I then die cut a circle using the pierced circles set also from Spellbinders.

Next I cut out all the BBQ elements using the Die D-Lites Weekend Grill.  The set is super cute as it also comes with the BBQ tools and a little bottle.

Please check out my other Weekend Grill post HERE where I have used the little bottle from the set.

I then finished with my card with a few sequins.

Thanks for stopping by today and please check out the website over at Spellbinders for details about the dies I have used on todays project.
